shims come in 0.05 increments, so it wont matter. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. It's something you learn by doing. basically you want it to slide without grabbing or threatening to bend the feeler. If the feeler stops when you try to push it between the cam and bucket, but then can be pushed in with a bit of force - it's too tight. On many bikes you have to bend the feeler a bit to get it to slide smoothly. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

As said, you will only get replacements in 5s, so just go for one that will make it a bit to LARGE a gap (smaller shim). On a bucket and shim, the gaps close over time, so by choosing the bigger one, you extend your next service interval!!
But in actual answer to your question, so you can get the feel for the resistance, if you were to oil up your fingers, then hold the feeler gauge set between your fingers, just such that they don't slip/fall, then pull them by the other hand, that is roughly what you are after resistance wise .... best I can come up with without beign able to physically show you ... ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |
