Choke not working, Honda CD125 T

Hi all, thanks for all your help so far on other posts.

My Honda Benly 125T (manufactured:1995 import) is going in for its MOT in a few days and I've just realised the Choke isn't doing anything, it moves freely and the cable moves along with the Choke operating arm.

It just has no effect on the engine, starts fine without it though (at least since i've owned the bike in this weather).

Its a 30mile ride to the test centre and i'm a bit worried that once it's warmed up the tickover will be way too high!..perhaps I'll just carry a screwdriver with me....
