SRAD woes....

Right, im gutted tbh, i was supposed to be going to a meet sunday (tomorrow) but my brakes on the recently rebuilt SRAD are... spongey or non-existant.

I rebuilt the calipers thinking the problem was dirty pistons and swollen piston seals...

Well lets say its not the seals... I pull he leaver in and there is some clamping force but then its nearly at the lever kissing the grip, if i clamp the hose from the m/c to the right hand caliper and the lever becomes solid. I'm at a loss at the end of the day i'm still learning, could some one please help?

Change the seals on the Master cylinder.

If theyre the same 6 pots as the Kawasaki this is what goes on them in my experience. Make sure you bleed them properly as my brakes were extremely sharp on my J1 (same brakes I beleive).

mines the 600 so its 4 pots not 6, i was thinking m/c seals... i've already spent £400 on parts lol, the bike has pretty much had an overhaul.

if you clamp the hose to one of the calipers and it works fine you know the other caliper is the problem. On some of the suzukis they can have an issue with seals pulling the pistons back....so look at the dodgy caliper and see if when you pull the lever if the free play is just the pistons being pushed out onto the pads and when you release the lever if the pistons are actually pulling back into the caliper by a couple of mm! if they are it could be a number of things like the weather seals rolling over or the seals have the taper fitted the wrong way round...assuming they have been fully bled that is

Looks like i need to split them again, they do roll back like you have said bladerunner, i must have fitted a few seals the wrong way, and the calipers are linked, so if i clamp it if doesnt make a difference, they have been fully bled, there is no air left. it must be a problem with the seals. either way i've missed my dead line.

I've had the brake lever zip tied to the bar overnite and there was pressure but it soon went

Also My nose cone doesnt fit on the bike propperly and i cant seem to figure out why, its pushing the fairing down and making them miss mounts by 4-8mm.
