Fuel tap question

Just bought my first bike (CBR600F4), and waas wondering whether i need to turn the fuel tap off when i come back from riding?

Not unless theres a problem with the float bowls (in which case the fuel would leak out so you would notice that)
I never turn mine off on any of my bikes Thumbs Up

What sort of tap is it....
A normal one with on, off & reserve.
Or a vacuum one with on, reserve & prime.

If normal get into the habit of turning off, if vacuum, leave alone as it turns itself off Thumbs Up

Yeah, what iooi said, except when you switch it off, remember that you did it otherwise you'll end up having a very mysterious breakdown!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Most Vacuum taps only have on / reserve and sometimes prime so the short answer is no. They should only flow when the engine is running unless they are on prime, which is basically a direct gravity feed for starting the engine if you've emptied the tank or the bike has been stood. Once it's running you should turn it back to on or reserve otherwise you'll do one of A) Flood your carbs if they are not in tip top condition and B) forget and drain your tank bone dry!
