Looks awesome. Not sure about new characters and the daylight looks funny but w/e. Better have a nice variety of campaigns and maps. Would be nice if they brought out more free content for the first one, lazy bastards.

Whole new game, theres quite an uproar on the steam forums

Something about releasing a brand new game only 7 months after the first, ruiening th chance for any more content to the first game and spreading players over 2 games. And also beacuse number 2 is pretty much a carbon copy of the first.

I'm surprised they are making it a stand alone, I had assumed they'd have updated using the method they did with half life 2. Unless the engine they are using is just too different for L4D2. To be honest I'd started to get bored of L4D, tired of the characters and the same maps all the time will be nice to get some fresh stuff.

I think thats why some people are so pissed off, as its pretty much the same game, but people will have to fork out for a a new game instead of just an update.

Should just be an update, nothing worthy of a new game. Minimum they should do is give it to people who bought the first game for 25% of the fee.

Valve On L4D2: “Trust Us A Little Bit”


They say they aren't finished with the first one yet and any maps the community is making with SDK will work on L4D2.

If the graphics in the trailer are the same as gameplay then I'm guessing the min specs are going to be more demanding which will put it out of reach for a lot of PC users for a while.

It can't be good news for half life if they're able to announce this so early. Wish they'd hurry up and finish episode 3 and get us onto HL3.
