As per title. Is it ok to use? Anyone done it?

I used car engine oil (I had a 5 litre bottle lying around doing nothing else) in my Scottoiler for about 8 years. Also used a small bottle of 2 stroke oil until that ran out (didn't have any 2 strokes to use it on).

Remember it will be a different viscosity to scottoil and adjust the flow accordingly.

Yes, I used old sump oil in a scotoiler for years and had no problems. Just adjust the oil flow as appropriate.
