Hi all,
this related to my last post (2 stroke aficiandos) so apologies but thought i might get better results with a new post.
im trying to identify the engine & carb on my latest project. (MTX 125)
I have the engine number, so should be able to find out what lump it is.
im led to beleive its a 200cc... it has atac valve on it & engine number starts MD07E-
as for the carb....
its a KEIHN, only markings are PF then below that 6SA <A> VA.
i could take it off & measure the bore, but i seem to have lost my vernier/caliper thingy for measuring stuff.
(gives me an excuse to go buy some tools, woo-hoo!)
anyone recognise this carb?
anyone suggest what carb i should be running?
im thinking that it should be a 30/32mm & im prepared for a lot of fiddling about & plug chopping etc.
any advice welcome.
i should add that i've only ran the bike for a day & find it a little hesitant at WOT.
cheers,
GAZ

Hi all,
just to update this....
after removing the carb it turns out its actually a PE,( not PF as i first thought, lol) series carb.
after a wipe with a cloth, i could actually read it properly. (when held 6 inches from my face, lol)
pheww.
thought i had some weird, never heard of before carb, but turns it its the fairly common PE.
now just to identify the model/size,
cheers,

Measure the diamiter on the round bit. It'll help you indentify it.

hi,
to accurately measure the diameter of the bore, i would need a vernier or similar accurate measuring device.
& as stated i dont havet this at present, lol
thanks anyway though.
