Ok so we've now established That i don't have a licence and don't actually ride a bike anymore, I'm kinda dreading getting on a 125 again as i find them unstable, under powered dangerous and quite frankly Sh*te..
Also having ridden 600's 750's and 1000's for Donkeys years I'm worried I'm going to forget I've got no power or brakes and kill myself as I had more crashes when i was legal and on a 125 than i had on proper bikes..
Anway the moral of this story is quite simple i should have taken my test a third time instead of saying Fu*k the establishment I'll ride anyway,
Moral part two, I've now got to get a 125 after getting used to having power and i'm not looking forward to it.

So what 125 would people recomend, i rather like the Look of the R125 but it's a bit pricey and I'd only rip the fairing off and put some renthals on and twin headlights and make a mini streetfighter.....

Woh is me Crying or Very sad

If your just going to be ripping stuff off and adding other stuff then i vote for any old shitter to do up . Unless its a 2 stroke its not going to be substantially important power wise which you go for.

Are you riding with a view to taking your test again or just as cheap transport?

I've crushed more CG's than i care to mention, no power and drum brakes front and rear, terrible bikes quite frankly,
But thanks for the suggestion....

I need something reasonably quick as I'm not rushing into the test and i want something that looks pretty neat and has some decent rubber on the back which the R125 seems to have from looking closely at one,
Not only that the fairing and other bits ripped off will get stored until i pass the test to be replaced back on the bike when it gets sold making the bike look pretty clean, and commanding a higher resale price (hopefully)

How about an older model rs125?
Not exactly slow, not overly expensive and not a bad looking bike.

I've always liked the look of those and they look ok fightered as well,
But there is one snagg and thats the fact that its a stroker and the last one i had i forgot to put two stroke in the bottle under the seat and seized the engine "DOH", but I'll check prices and if they're cheaper than r125's it might be a viable option..

And quite frankly if thats the best you can come up with i think it's about time you took a closer look at yourself went and purchased a dictionary and found some words to use which might make you look a bit less like someone who suffers with Tourette's syndrome..

And whats wrong with Bellend's?
Take one bellend and add it to a p**sy and Well, i don't think even you need to have that explained to you in great detail...

I find my 125 unstable, under powered, dangerous and quite frankly shit.

My XR is pretty shit, my CG was very shit.

Doesn't stop me enjoying riding them though. In fact, it adds to the appeal.

Shit bikes rock. Cool

Hard to find, but an old XL125 is the mutts nuts

I don't know if you remember the one that Pat had, I bought it off him, had a kickstart ... it was well cool. I let Andy swap it for a Citroen --- BIG mistake! Wish I had of kept it now.

If you had one of them, I'd borrow it off ya Laughing

You left your lighter on my desk, by the way Cool Thumbs Up

I put it up on the screen stand behind the picture of Andy and Tigger, out of reach of sticky-fingered children, etc

I would say take your test as soon as possible then buy an older bigger bike rather than go the 125 route. I only say that as you already have experience on bikes, it'll be cheaper in the long run and you'll have a better bike at the end of it all (and a license of course).

You'll be hard pushed to find a 125 that's fast, 4 stroke, big rear tyre, looks good, cheap enough, reliable and needs no maintenance whatsoever (like filling up a 2-stroke reservoir Confused )

Erm, how can you like the look of the bike, but then say you would rip the fairings off? Surely this means you don't like the look of the bike? It sounds to me like your dropping a subtle 'Look at me im Wreckage and I still rebel against the establishment by streetfightering a common bike even though I now have a licence!'

Oh, and no one likes a lick arse.

Other than that, get an RS 125, best 125 for power, breaks, ride etc. - no wonder they won so many competitions on the older ones.

LOL, this quote gets the award from "furtherest thing from the reality of the situation".

I think the point is that the limited amount of choice of style amongst those sort of bikes means he'd have to "restyle" it almost immediately (in his own inimitable fashion Laughing ) to suit his personal taste.

Then buy it and don't be an idiot and remember to put oil in the bottle. The RS125s have Oil lights anyway iirc?
Thumbs Up

Post 2001 CGs have disc brakes at the front. The power is still the same tho. Even the r125 you mentioned isn't much more power, just looks a bit bigger and prettier (ditto Hyosung GT125, 600 sized bike, disc brakes front and rear with a 15hp V twin engine).

If you want power in a 125 go for an NSR. You'll have to put oil in it, but its likely to be less fussy and highly strung than an Aprilia.

Still don't like the options? Do a DAS

I would actualy recommend something like a hyosung comet 125, save yourself some money and no need to rip the fairing off of something like an r125.

Dont be put off by the chinese sounding name, hyosung are a pretty reputable brand Thumbs Up

The comet looks fighteresque which im guessing is the look you're after, it is also pretty much the only 125 i can think of that fits the bill, since most 17 year old kids want a bike that looks like an R1 or gixxer.

comet

I'd go for an NSR - if you get an F model, they come naked as standard.
Or a two stroke trail bike of some kind... most modern 2 strokes do come with oil warning lights, so you should have plenty of time to fill up.
Forget to put the oil in a 4 stroke and much worse things will happen!

If you're stuck on a 4 stroke, the MZ125 Supermoto apparantly has the highest power learner legal engine available.

if you are desperate for a "streetfigher" 125 there is always the tuono 125 (if you can find one).

This thread is completely pointless

You want a bike that is fast and have amazing brakes but you dont want a 2 stroke as due to your lack of mechanical knowledge.

You dont want a 4 stroke because they are slow and generally rubbish.

How long has it been since you last owned a 125 ?

Simple really Because i can, I like the look of the r125 because i can see through the fairing and see the potential for a pretty neat looking mini fighter and once a year or so of general scratching the nice clean unused fairing can be pulled out of mothballs and replaced to make the bike look pretty as new,
Thus comanding a higher resale price once I've taken the test yet again but this time passed...

Oh and i haven't had the need to Lick arse in about 20 years..

You're going to be losing pretty big time on the resale anyway compared to a cheaper second hand bike.
Own it for a couple of years keeping it in good nick and you've probably lost the cost of a pretty decent second hand bike entirely.

I was thinking about finding a decent condition second hand R125,
But you never know maybe a nicely fightered model might sell,
But I'm leaning towards the RS125 or maybe the hyosung gt125,
I know the stroker will be quicker than the 4S vee twin but hell thats what messing with jetting and air filters is for..
