Hi i have just bought a 1989 honda cb1 400cc. The suspension on the back is very low and soft, i can bottom it out just going over little bumps and i weigh around 11stone. I would like to replace the shock with one from another bike to lift the back slightly so i dont have the same problem. Does anyone know what shock would fit and what effect it would have when fitted. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

may be if you give us the dimensions of your shock and the mounting type, we can compare it to other shocks about

edit : when i searched for honda cb1 shock and the 3rd result told me that the CBR900RR shock is a direct replacement

I've heard some people fit a mid 90's CBR600 shock in without too much trouble - that opens up aftermarket second hand items off Ebay.....I had a modified Ohlins item on my CB1 a couple of years back...

If I remember correctly my friend was using a blackbird shock on his CB-1 as he was a bit on the larger side.
