I know you all hate peds on here and every other question is about them, but I only have 4 weeks left riding my ped to college before I can do my bike test, this is the MOST inconvenient time for it to break. Can't really get it into a garage due to bus timings to get into college again after so thought I'd ask here if there's anything i can do before i start forking out £5 a day for the f*cking bus Evil or Very Mad

So basically while I'm going along at most speeds above 20-25, my moped will 'bog down' or seem to stick. It feels like I'm pulling sharply on the brake as it slows down, but only for a second and then it carries on. However, these little jolts happen quite frequently, once every 5-10 seconds, and sometimes lasting longer.

I took it to a mate who works aa lotwith bikes and we took the transmission cover off, and played around a bit, but didn't really change anything, and on the way home from there it seemed to work ok and only jolted a couple of times.

When it does jolt the engine just seems to stop...

I have no idea what this could be, the fact that it was better after fiddling with the transmission leads me to think it's that, aswell as the transmission cover being quite hot after riding, but could it be something to do with the spark plug or piston instead?

Please help Crying or Very sad

Sounds electrical and you are losing your spark when riding. Check the easy things first such as HT lead, plug cap and plug.

If I was losing the spark would the petrol be unburnt? I have pretty much no mechanical knowledge, do you have any idea how I'd check those things? Thanks a lot =]
