The number is usually on the key(no god now) or try the handbook then get a second cut as a spare.

New lock set for you.

There is no "number" on the bike that'll get you a key to your lock, although that would be a lovely resource for thieves.

If you really need to get it working, a flat bladed screw driver and a hammer will see you ok for a bit (assuming it doesn't have a chip in the key etc.)

If you go to a decent locksmiths (not a bootmender) they can make a key from your lock. It aint cheap though, I had one done in about 1990 and it cost about £18 back then.

hi,
35-40 quid will get you 2 new keys.
dunno how much a replacement lock set will cost (might work out cheaper for a second hand lockset off ebay)
if your wanting replacement keys, remove the ignition barrell.
then take it in to any bike shop or decent locksmith.
they will send it off to keys galore or somewhere similar, who will cut you new keys.(or you could send it to keys galore yourself, think there in camden),
some ignition barrels have a code number stamped on the barrell, (or beside they keyhole) from which you can get a key cut, from the dealership. (expect main dealer prices)
cheers,
GAZ
