DRZ400E blows main fuse

Hi all, having a bit of a strange problem with my drz. Out on a ride today, main fuse blew, thought ok, I'll change it over for the spare, did so and that blew too. Thought about it, and seeing as it was hot out, thought it might be overheated, so went into the pub (I'd conveniently broken down next to) and played some pool with squiffythewombat. Came back out and tried some more fuses, and nowt.

While the aa took 4 hours to recover me, I took everything off I could with a 8m socket and a flathead, the only problem I could find was the earth off the negative terminal is dirty and corroded. Tomorow I intend to clean and vaseline it and see if that helps, if not what else can I do?
