Is it alright to mix these? My bike has semi in it from the last owner and I want to use Fully Synthetic. Is it ok to mix?

You aren't supposed to, I've heard they can congeal. I've never actually seen it happen though.

My advice to you is to run it until the light comes on, and then fill up with fully synth. Thumbs Up Smile

I wouldn't like to trust my little light to tell me when to fill up with oil.

You could do what I did which was drain the 2 stroke oil out of the tank, fill it back up with your new oil, as it starts to come out of the pipe that connects to your pump, connect it to your pump then bleed the pump (assuming there is a bleed screw on the pump). Once oil starts to come out of there, job done.

I then just made sure the pipes that go to the carbs were still full of oil. I rode the first couple of miles covering the clutch just in case I did it wrong, but I didn't.

You should be able to mix a semi and a fully synthetic... its mineral to fully you shouldnt do as it can turn to a gel.

Cheers guys. It was just because I was running the bike on the sidestand whilst I got my gear on and the light came on.

So I got a bit worried. I fill it up with TTS now.

Thumbs Up Karma

I was running Silkolene Comp 2 Injector but Fuchs has stopped commercial distribution to Vancouver Island (meaning i need to buy by the case if i want it).
I switched to PJ1 Silverfire semi-synthetic. Less smoke and for sale at local auto-shop open 7 days a week for 7 pounds per litre.
I had no issues transitioning between the two

Since this has had a little bump i'll make a point that i left out in my first post.

On my TS50x i mixed all three types of oil all the time (depending on what i had in the bank and what i could ponce from friends) and never had any problems with oil congealing or anything like that, I've heard alot of horror stories about mixing but i had no issues at all.
