Nothing really news worthy, but just a question.

Why does she have a 'sepcial branch escort'?

Do all ex-Prime Ministers get this kind of treatment?

I don't know, but i do know that all ex-Presidents of the USA are referred to as 'Mister President' until their death.
Thumbs Up

Pre the Blair era all Prime Ministers, Home Secretaries and Secretaries Of State For Northern Ireland were given lifetime armed protection. This was fully justified as many people and groups would undoubtedly have sought revenge for misdeeds, whether real or imagined. Since Blair took office it would seem that almost all members of The Labour Party's hierarchy now have armed officers guarding them.

Regards,

Tony

Just for not wishing the vile bag eternal torment.
Then again she is old now and it is not kind of me to wish harm to her now but I sure as hell wish she had been run over by a bus 40 years ago.

She may have been run over by a bus in the past if it was state run and on time.

Karma for these 2 posts Sir... Despite the fact they both express pleasure in her demise they made me chuckle like a fat bloke.

Middle Class Very Happy I spent most of my early life in Industry, she destroyed much of the country's manufacturing base and made millions of us out of work, it was in her words " a price worth paying". She declared that society is dead and tried to smash a lot of the supporting structures that help the less well off. She set her police against us when we defended the miners in 84 and put brother against brother. She forced Clause 28 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_28 through Parliament that made any discussion of homosexuality illegal in our schools. Then there was the poll tax.......

What, from old ironbollocks Milksnatcher?
Aside from giving the unions an admittedly much-needed slap, I'm hard pressed to think of anything much.

Because of her actions:
we've got buggerall real production base,
we have very few technically skilled indigenous people (the non-indigenous part doesn't bother me, it's the fact that we're utterly reliant that does),
and the common populace is still using the personal spending habits that were cultivated by Thatcher's much-beloved yuppies to this day, thus causing our current economic instability.

Strong leadership is one thing, giving your generational successors the two-fingered salute is quite another.

As much as I hate to admit it, despite everything already mentioned, the few times I was glad she was on 'our side' was when she dealt with the EU.

It was one less worry that she was signing off powers to the EU and giving up our opt-outs unnecessarily.

Struggling to think of anything else good though...
