That is a very poorly written post.

But anyway, I personally wouldn't have thought a small amount of grease would bugger a clutch, but I could be wrong.

Did you take your cables off when you oiled them? Could be perhaps that when you have reinstalled them you did not correctly adjust the clutch cable, so it is not able to fully engage.

Is there any free play on the clutch lever - i.e. when you initially pull the lever there is no resistance, or is there resistance immediately?

If the second one, I would adjust the cable to give a little free play, so you know that the clutch is fully engaging.

EDIT:

If it still slips when correctly adjusted I'm going to pass. Are you sure it wasn't slipping before?

Thats your problem,

MTX's dont like Beening, Beening out on the bike will bugger the clutch.

Very Happy

I would bet my ass that you doing that will have had zero effect on the clutch.

There is no way that I can see that the grease would have been able to get in.

Furthermore, if any did manage to get in, it would be a tiny amount - and be so diluted by the oil in there that it would be insignificant.

I don't think this is your problem.

Check the adjustment anyway, it's literally a 1 minute job, hell I have done mine whilst riding, and I have the mechanical skills of a worm.
