Stiff gear change

Just recently I have noticed that going down the gears on my ER-5 feels a little stiff. Going up the gears is absolutely fine but changing down feels like i'm having to use a harder kickdown then usual. Any suggestions?

Sorry, short of 'don't change down then' that's the only advice I can give.

Could be the linkage seizing up, dismantle, clean and lube...or just spray with wd40 while moving it to see if it frees up any.
