Try the worksop section..... Good advice provided in there for guess what
Oh and next time you get stuck...
Don't rev the tits off it. Higher gear, let it tick over and pull itself out slowly..
Failing that stop engine and rotate wheel by hand.
Comes out no end easier and saves a fortune on new bits...... ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

ignore him, he rides a divvy.
REV THE KNACKERS OFF IT AND GO ALL ARGHHGHGRAGGHHH ON THAT FUCKING MUD!
Take my advice, i also ride a divvy
But yeah, iooi is right, just let it creep out, it gives the mud and crap time to settle into some sort of structure rather than ripping it out of the way immediately.
As for clutch friction plates, cover off, unscrew 5/6 bolts retaining the springs, take the plates out, replace.
Try soaking the new plates in oil before use though, i dont think it makes much difference but it allows them to be lubricated should you want to go straight fro a ride. ____________________ Current Bike: 1996 Yamaha TRX850 (The Japanese-Ducati One).

leave them soaked in oil for about 24 hours before you fit them, otherwise they will be dry and the friction part will just break up into loads of bits. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Makes no difference really, some specify that you have to, some you don't.
Follow the instructions you get with your set.
Superbike mag has a changing clutch plates guide in it this month actually, may be worth a read. ____________________ My Flickr |

I only bought a hd one because the standard clutch cant cope with the extra power of the big bore kit etc.
Wouldnt buy one for a standard bike
The heavy clutch may annoy you. ____________________ '56 Yamaha MT-01

Looks like a nice job with a old socket, hacksaw and a file....
Or if you are brave and have access to one a grinder. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

All fixed, found the tool i needed online The tool got here today. 1 hour later new clutch plates and springs all installed!
back to being about to give it power without the clutch going slippy slippy!
oh i also replaced the steel clutch plates as well which was a waste of money as the old ones was fine! we live and learn!
