Just found that probably the only way to get paid for wasting my time is to invoice the local council.
However, I can't get a proforma invoice from them and I'm not a company so...
What do I need to put on my own invoice?
I guess an itemised bill, name, address, payment conditions (eg pay within 28 days) at the least.
However, what about VAT?
Plus any other (legalish) bits?
Thanks in anticipation, MAP ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Do you have excel, as there is a template in there.
If not, normally you would put your name and address, your customer's name & address, a brief description of the goods or services you are invoicing for and a price. VAT not applicable unless you as an individual or trading company are VAT registered but if you were I would assume you would know how to submit an invoice!
Also give it some sort of unique identifier (eg COUNCIL0001/2009) so that you and they can trace it easily in future correspondence. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |
