Sainsbury's has installed a generator in their car park which is powered by your cars as they drive in and out of sainsburys.

Yeah - what a fockin' cheek.

They charge me 50p for a tin of beans and then have the audacity to recoup another couple of pence from me purely 'cos my Ford enters their car park.

Freeloading Tossers.

So in this case it's actually better for the environment if I drive to the shops instead of walking!? Laughing

Edit: Actually here's a thought, say they find out this is a very efficient method of generating power all over the country. I can just see the state of the motorways for years to come, all being ripped up to be replaced by kinetic panels!
Either that or they'll just place kinetic panels in the middle lane here and there, and force everyone into 1 lane at set intervals. Lovely jams ahead...! Rolling Eyes

I've thought this for years. I haven't seen the panels at Sainsbury's, but my idea was having air filled tubes across the width of the road which forced a coil (on a spring) backwards and forwards - in a similar way to those torches you shake to get power out of them. These sound liek a better system though.

Imagine the energy across the UK that could be generated from X million vehicles if it were countrywide, all plumbed in to the national grid. Millions of Jiggawatts! Shocked

Coupled with that, my idea was that all motorway lighting would be off by default, and any vehicle coming down the road would generate the power for the lighting around him and ahead of him using these, which I still think is a good idea, tbh. Bikes, due to their lighter weight, might need a bit of subsidising of course... Thumbs Up
