...a Lamborghini Murcielago...

My god... i've ridden an R1, i've full throttled an R1, but dear god this thing is so quick from any speed it's insane.

Boss rented one for a week, it's amazing what £150k car can do!

Was the LP640 Roadster, bright orange, the change down 'blip' on the flappy paddle gearbox is astonishing.

Thought I'd share Very Happy

Would anyone be impressed if I said the fastest car I'd ever been in was a Rover Montego 2.0 turbo sometime in the early 90's?

It did 150mph... Apparently...

No?

Oh well.

I'd feel a bit daft in a super car, probably for the same reason I don't put hair gel in my hair; you can roll a turd in glitter, but it's still a turd.

Nice!

I have always thought the sense of speed is greatly increased when in a car. I think this is due to the fact most of the times I have gone stuped fast in a car I am the passenger, it feels allot faster/more dangerous when you are not the one in control.

I guess that factors in as well, but I found that when I drove a Ferrari round a track it felt fast but not stuped fast, but as soon as I got in the passenger seat it felt much faster, even though the lap times were very similar.

Laughing I have no idea what one of them is, and have intention of googlin'. Fastest car I've been a passenger in is my mates Focus, and it wasn't even a sporty one. Haven't driven since I passed my test so fastest car I've drove is the standard BSM corsa. Laughing

If it was the MG Montego turbo, i would.
A mate had one of those, and (in their day) they were amusingly rapid (0-60 in around 7 sec IIRC), although i think the fun came from having far more power than the chassis could handle and driving one was a constant battle of wills - you wanted to go forward, the car wanted to torque-steer into the nearest hedge.
My mate's had some sort of talking KITT-like computer (standard fitment?), which was amazing at first, but after a while it became incredibly annoying.

And what about 115 in a Dolomite Sprint..the model before they upgraded all the running gear...jesus that was scary. Best bit was when my mate tried showing off in the pub carpark and slid into the beergarden wall. Shocked
Did Triumph ever build a decent car?

That's the one, it was white with red, ummm, piping? It didn't talk though, I think that was after they stopped putting the talking computer things in Maestros and what not.

As you say, it was really fast, but it didn't feel safe at all. I think it blew up in the end.

Thumbs Up

Went in a Corvette C5 before, that was pretty awsome, no idea how fast we went to be honest, i was about 14 at the time so i'd imagine it seemed alot faster than it was Laughing

Was so cool though, it was a corvette night at the Ace cafe, i was at my mums place when she still lived here and her boyfriend at the time pulled up in his red convertible C5, with a black fully tricked out C5 z06, full in car entertainment system etc etc...

The mums BF's one had yankee plates on it, and fake ones at that, so speed cameras meant zilch Laughing

Sorry got a little carried away there Laughing

But you're not exposed to the elements in a car. The first time you do anything over 50mph on a bike you feel like an Ewok on a speederbike... Laughing

Laughing Classic.

I remember chasing some exotic sports car on a dual carridge way from the lights on a ZXR4. Well I say chase. I was ragging said ZXR4 and the car just dissapeared in to the horizon. I never even found out what it was. Laughing It had 4 exhausts though and school boy rules dictate it was the fastest thing ever. Cool I was speechless at the speed of the f*cker though.

My mate dropped us off at school in an aston martin V12 vanquish.

Got some looks.

Then he roared up the road.

I have to say though, the back seat of a mini would probably be bigger than those in the aston.
