I just brought a Honda NSR RK 125cc for £510 off ebay, the link is below if you want to look at it.
https://www.geocities.com/wassup_2025/hondansr125.html
The reason it being so cheap is because it failed the MOT because the indicators dont flash (buggered relay). Its not taxed.
Also it doesnt start because of no spark, which is a simple job cant only be a bust ir disconnected wire, CDi unit or HT Coil? Think thats simple enough.
It needs seat recovering. Could do with a nice sprayjob might get my mate to do it in rage illusion flip paint blue. and change that awful purple screen.
What i really want help with is getting the bits online.
I need
indicator relay the thing which makes the indicators flash.
seat cover - seat cover is ripped.
anywhere cheap online?
Be nice if you give me your opinions on it. Thanks! |

ah i was looking at the one on ebay.
www.davidsilverspares.com
for honda parts.
check all the electrical parts before comitting to anything - could just be a loose wire. Also check parts like the coil for signs of melting. |

Looks good mate. I saw that on ebay a few days ago, I think you could make a nice bike out of that.
Yeah I would say David Silvers is probably your best bet. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

Well that looks like it should be nice, and thats a good price as well
Indicators relay just get it from Halford. However if your planning on changes the indicators to some smaller ones, make sure you get a relay suitable for them
Tax is easy
Change the spark plug (few quid), and see if it sparking. If not, start working your way around the engine looking for whats wrong Oh yeah, and check the battery, or try bump starting it
Seat... not sure where, although Zimma is breaking an NSR and his might fit Or just gaffer tape it for the time
Getting an iridium screen for the NSR will need to be custom made as I dont think anyone makes them. Flipflop paint would look smart as well.
There are not actually any parts you need to buy other than a relay and a spark plug, so just best to go to Halford. For bits which you want like the indicators and such like check out the links secion up there ^^^
Enjoy |

what a nice bunch of lads!
i hope its nothing drastic with it not sparking. it is a like 13 yr old bike so its got to be dirty electrics or new ht coil/CDI job.
its had new front tyre, battery, chain and sprockets 5that havent even been used on the road yet.
i leave normal indicators on and get a relay so they work fine for the MOT but this bloke i know , seriously he will just look at it , walk round it and stamp the certificate! they passed my stepdads TL1000 suzuki today. and thats got a rainbow effect headlight and the steering damper has 2 inch of play in it!
Anyhow the bloke said he looked around it and couldnt see anything obvious. (The old owner of my NSR) he suspects loose or broken wire, or HT coil or CDi.he ssaid the starter motor spins but it dont fire up.
i dont think he tried bumping it.
its done 31,000 and i presume thats kilometres?
As for that rage illusion flip paint, can that be done by hand (im a good sprayer) or does it have to be done professionally?
Im not to keen on the sickly green ((that rhymes!) and it has been decked on the right hand side, the lower fairing got cracked but he fibreglass and plastic welded it so it needs painting.
Last thing, where is the best place for insurance? cheapest obviously?
i had a speedfight 50 before, that did 22,000 in 14 months (miles) and i always serviced it and repaired it myself, so im alrite mechanics wise.
Cheers lads! |

I'm sure that if you took the seat to an upholsterer, they could probably make a job of recovering it. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

One point about the David Silvers website - if they don't list what you want, then give them a call/email, and they should be able to find it for you.
As Ste said, you should be able to get relays and spark plugs at your local Halfords. ____________________ TiN

You could also cover the seat yourself, don't this a few times on deferent bikes and scooters.
simply get yourself a good quality staple gun (I have an electric one for the job) and then get yourself some vinal (colour up to you and what you want on the bike!)
Then its simply a case of stretching the vinal over the seat and stapling it down on the underside.
Use some contactadhesivee on the seat so the vinalain'tt sliding around once its all finishes (ie spray the seat, lay the vinal over then start the stapling and stretching on the underside)
Or if you get the vinal and take it to an upholsters, they should do it for you for a tenner or so.

when u find out why its not sparkin let me know wot u found!!
i got a 93 nsr, luckily its a spare bike, but i have had it a year it stopped runnin one day and has never sparked since ... i have taken parts of my running nsr still no good... i have changed;
cdi unit
coil
plug
rewired wiring loom
pick up coil
basically everything ... and i still have no spark, only way i get a spark is if i bridge alternator wire to pick up coil ( work that one out ) but the spark is too weak to run the bike ....... anyway ... just a note to say its not always simple!!
but if u have any luck let me know!! |
