Hi all,

Does anyone have a chain riveting tool that i could use next friday saturday???

If not does anyone know another way to fit the DID chain on a bandit 600 without needing this tool.

Thanks

John

u dont need that tool.you can use a centre punch and get someone to help you by holding something solid on the other side of the link pin, like another hammer. and get the centre punch into the centre of the rivet and give it a few good hits.that should be plenty. thats all i do.hope this helps. Thumbs Up

i think you should bite the bullet & buy the tool. i know they're a bit expensive but you'll always have it & if you're planning on driving bikes for a few years then you'll be changing the chain & cogs again. if your mates ride bikes then get them to chip in & buy it between you's. it's the best way of fitting the chain & for the sake of a couple of quid isn't it better to have the peace of mind knowing the chain won't snap & at best leave you stranded somewhere or at worst?....... don't even want to think about it.

If you do get one make sure it's the Whale tool. I know they are highly recommended on here and now I know why. Up until now I was using the Motrax one and it broke - like most other owners on here have experienced. The Whale tool was a joy to use and in a different league. Cost about £65 from B&C Express and is worth investing in.
