I thought I might just throw in a Random Banter one.
Im a heterosexual, 27 year old male. Yesterday I went shopping with the Mrs for some clothes, mostly because I need some but also for the impending holiday next week.
Now how annoying is it that every shop now only caters for Homosexuals? Im as open minded as the next guy but I dont see skinny jeans and a yellow cardigan as the way forward! My mrs couldnt understand it so I told her to imagine walking into river island or whatever and all the womens clothes were just what you would expect a big fat bull dyke to wear, and would she be happy.
Theres pinks, bright greens, yellows, in some places I couldnt work out where the womens' stuff stopped and the blokes' gear started. I went everywhere and couldnt find anything I wouldnt feel like Julian Clarey by wearing.
Perhaps Im old and out of touch but Im still not going to wear sandals and a cravat to go out on the town in.

Most of the high street shops only cover the 'in' fashions, which in general, as you've discovered - are gay.
I ventured into Matalan today to look for some formal wear for work, similar situation to you but I did manage to find 1 jumper I liked out of a whole shop. My clothes shopping has been 99% online for the last few years. ____________________ 2012 KTM EXC 250

I would rather sit in a corner stroking my beard in a straight man's shirt, than knee-deep in clunge wearing a cardigan.
I manage to find decent enough jeans in TK Maxx, matalan and new look (unlikely sources I know) loose fitting with big pockets. However I am limited to about 1 pair a year (not that that's a problem ) as even these places favour the fag-outfit.
I'll wear poofy colours of t-shirt so long as it's a loose fitting regular length one. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper. |

You think gay folk wear that shit?
It's called 'Meterosexuality,' It's the latest thing. If you want biege workwear, go to M&S, George or whatever crap tesco are pedalling.
Gays shop at TK maxx. And can we please get away from the cravat thing? It's not a gay stereotype.

We have the same problem in Cheltenham, its full of students wearing skinny jeans with their bums out, scarfs and T-shirts and brightly coloured tight cardigans. Yuk.
I can't stand it, i have to shop online now to avoid looking like a nonce.
Oh and one more, i forgot low cut T-shirts!?!?!? ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

You can now buy jeans that are already worn out with holes in them. |
I was blasting a mate the other night for paying £140 for a pair of jeans, especially when he complains of money problems half the time. And they looked shit anyway.
I shat blood when people started wearing jeans with rips and holes in them. When I did that at age 15 I was called a tramp and generally shunned and hated by most people - now the same cunts pay top dolla to look like it!!
If I wear anything with a name brand on it at all, then it's either fake as hell or off the back of a lorry, and in either case have paid peanuts for it.

Wow, so it's not just me that doesn't want to dress like a metrosexual student type at the local campus.
Burtons / Next do jeans for around £25, just avoid the stuff on the main displays. SportsWorld do plain cotton t-shirts for a fiver.
People that spend £££s on clothes during these times are crazy. ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

Always unsure about Army Surplus, mainly because they don't do fat git sizes.

The trickiest bit seems to be finding jumpers that aren't camper than a Freddie Mercury lookalike contest, or just chavvy. Hoodies seem to either come in chav white or navy with a massive logo, or emo superskinny. Jumpers just seem to be designed to make you look like you covet the bottoms of other men... thank smeg for combat jackets. |
I rake around at the gay haven that is TK maxx every 6 months or so for jumpers, got some pretty straight hoodies. Also found some good animal hoodies at an equestrian shop my missus shops at. I have a 30 year old camo jacket that has stood the test of time though. No army surplus store has the quality or awesometude that is my jacket. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

Since this is a bit of a fashion-bash, I'm putting my oar in.
My specific gripe is the pointless wearing of scarves. You know what I mean, those nobbers who take a scarf, loop it in half, throw around one's neck and put the two ends through the loop, so that the scarf is 'chunky'.
Wearing it like that is a bit ghey, IMO, but combine that with wearing it with only a t-shirt (and trousers, obviously), is moronic.
Scarves are there to keep you warm, when it is bloody freezing. If you can happily wander about in a t-shirt without being cold, then you definitely do not need a scarf.
