Hey guys,

I saw a bloke pop a wheelie today and it looked well cool - I was just wondering how I'd go about doing one in an effort to become even more of a gash-magnet.

Im on a restricted hornet 600 - all the info about wheelies seem to just say to accelerate hard and let the front become light, but no matter how hard I accelerate I can't seem to do this. Should I be leaning back at the same time?

Or does my bike just not have the power?

Any help appreciated!

Omar

Hi Omar, just before i start i wish to point out two incompatable things you mentioned

Omar15 wrote:

You are riding a restricted hornet therefore even petrol bombing a traffic police car outside the local secondary school whilst wheeling with one hand would not make you a gash magnet, even too the chavviest of chavettes congregated at the school gates.

Two. Everyone knows stoppies are far cooler than wheelies so as you are asking the wrong questions i wont share with you the knowledge which you seek.

The bike doesnt have nearly enough power to just pop out wheelies from normal acceleration.

It will probably wheelie in 1st if you speed up, shut the throttle hard to engine brake down to very low speed and lean hard forwards, compressing the front forks. Now snap the throttle open and lean hard back as far as you can. This uses the front forks to help bounce the front wheel up, along with hard acceleration, and shifting your weight to the rear.

Another method is to use the clutch Laughing
It will probably pop a little wheelie from a standing start if you get the rev's up in 1st then feed the clutch out hard.

To be honest none of these methods are good for your bike or your health!

If you must try any of them find a grippy car park off the public roads, with nothing to hit, and start off slowly!

Omar, sorry about your problem. I would call Dear Dierdrie if you need to learn to wheelie to get a chick!

Cheers for the info DaFrostyOne - i'll try that at some point soon. Maybe tonight actually...

Also guys, at the moment I'm a gash magnet in myself. However, armed with a hornet 600 (and girls can't tell the difference between bikes of any sort) and the ability to wheelie i'll be an unstoppable impregnation machine.

Wicked!

I can pop a wheelie my standard 1993 CG125, so a massive 33bhp bike will just require a bit of clutch.

Cover the back brake and use it if you feel the front wheel is too high.

tbh, you'll feel it's too high when it probably isn't but a little at a time is where it's at.

Please be careful.

no good will come from it,

there are plenty of vids on youtube and how to do wheelies,
you probably can't get up under power so will have to use the clutch to get you up, but since you are on a restricted bike im going to assume that your clutch control probably isnt good enough and you'll probably go over the back,

but if you are determined to try and are prepared to crash trying and are prepared to fix your headstock bearings from the hard landings,
then find a quiet carpark with no cars or people and try,
its all well and good people telling you what to do but itsone of those things that takes time to get a feel for,

girls like guys with a face with out road rash Very Happy

Don't do them on my unrestricted hornet for simple reason, not trying to impress anyone and don't want to ruin my bike!

Sure I could but would rather use someone elses bike, lend me yours and I'll show you how to do it!

You should be able to clutch them up.

I'd be surprised if you managed it without the clutch.

Practice on a push-bike Thumbs Up And pull evenly on the bars. Any road bike can be wheelied, whereas endos are the preserve of the ultra dude-ishness dudes(and dude-ettes)

Pat
I'd check on the BCF Coolwall to see if a Hornet 600 is gash worthy

The bike does have the power to power wheelie. Just not with the restrictors. Laughing Take them out and you'll be more of a "gash-magnet" Wink

You can clutch it up but I found it stupidly hard when it was restricted. May have been my method more than anything else though. (Most likely!)

Laughing

We should meet up. You sound a bit like me (but not quite as good Wink) And I have a Hornet 6. Which wheelies and stoppies.

And DonUk... I agree but not agree. I think stoppies are freaking awesome and take more skill, but you can't be an old power wheelie with no effort whatsoever when some noob is trying to race you Laughing

if you want to do wheelies you might as well *forget* about your restriction Smile iv never ridden a hornet 600 but I think with some renthalls and a big back sproket you could have a wheelie machine. Start of with just the throttle in first, wack it open in the good part about 8000rpm (just guessing) and the front should come up easy

If you don't know the bike don't tell him what revs to whack it up in! Laughing

Bike power wheelies and clutches up in second at about 30-40 without any mods whatsoever.

But that's the unrestricted version. Restricted? I did full throttle dump the clutch with a friend on the back and that came up pretty fast Laughing So I wouldn't recommend doing that.

haha, the size of my cock doesn't really matter. When i've lured her in with my wheeling capabilities and then popped a rohypnol in her drink she won't remember a thing. Smile

m0l0t0v - when you dumped the clutch, how fast were you going? Or was it from static?

You sound like your putting in too much effort to get around your low intellect.

If you are planning on drugging her there are much easier ways to do it without needing to lure with wheelies.

A restricted hornet will wheelie, whether you can is obviously debateable!

I've flipped my bike day before yesterday Embarassed felt a right twat came off in front of a crowd outside a pub my bike is twatted all down 1 side.

Becareful.

remember:

power wheelies = gay

snapped throttle wheelies = gay

clutching is the only proper way to do it.

Not really. Clutched up wheelies are more skilled yes, but doesn't mean power wheelies are gay.

Something about someone wanting to race you on a chavved up Civic and you lazily lean back like your cruising, look to them open the throttle and the front wheel comes off the power. Just shows you don't have to try to leave them for dust or even try to "show off" Laughing

I went to a wheelie school a month back and it was awsome, when I got back I took the wifes SV for spin and quickly blew a fork seal wheelieing down the local industrial estate. The SV comes up easy using the power but its much better clutching it up
