I have a PGO PMX 50cc Sport. My scooter is bored out to 70cc atm, from 50cc. If I were to make it a 110cc, apart from obviously upjetting the carb...would I need another carb to be able to do this?

Also would it even fit? thanks.

More than likely, although which one would be anyone's guess.

Expect to have a long job of getting the fuelling correct, not to mention the exponential reduction in reliability.

Okay, thank you. Would it be possible to buy the carb from the 110cc bike (pgo pmx 110) and just take mine off and put that one on? as well as the bore kit. Would that work?

thanks

Another question is will the standard 110cc engine fit your bike?

I have no idea at all but it's gonna work out cheaper just swapping the pistons and carb than a full engine.

Especially seeing as it's a rare chinese bike, the parts are very difficult to source out so I'd have to buy an engine from the manufacturer which would cost a lot. Sad

Hi

How closely related is the 110cc and 50cc engines? Do they even share the same stroke?

I would suspect that they are quite different engines, in which case swapping parts over would likely be a lot of effort.

You probably could keep running the 50cc carb on a 110cc version of the bike, just that the engine would be pretty strangled.

All the best

Keith

How do you mean strangled? thanks

They're both 2 stroke, it's actually not a 110cc bike it's 100.
According to bikez.com, both 2 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, automatic etc. All that looks different is the torque, horsepower and compression ratio.

I'm not exactly sure what your trying to do with your scoot, as far as I know the 70cc big bore kit is the biggest one that will fit onto the 50cc engine so I would be very surprised if you can fit the 100cc barrel & piston. You would also have to run the 100cc carb, will this fit onto your inlet manifold? If not will the 100cc inlet fit onto your engine?
Lastly, if you're thinking of just putting the 100 engine straight into your ped, I'd imagine you're are going to have to use the transmission & rear wheel. Does it have a disc brake? If it does, will it fit onto your bike?
Unless your licence doesn't allow you to drive anything over a 50cc, would it not be easier just to upgrade to a bigger ped?

Coarse it would be easier lol, but then what would be the point in just spending money to get what I want? I want to work on the bike and make it better Razz

Hi

Can't find a bore and stroke figure, but would be very surprised if they share the same stroke. Even if they share the same mounting stud positions (not that likely) the mods to get the longer stroke barrel to work vaguely right (ie, machine down the barrel / longer con rod and get the ports to still be in the right place) would be time consuming and expensive.

As to strangling it, the 100cc engine probably needs almost twice the fuel / air mix of the 50 and trying to get that through the tiny carb would be like trying to run a marathon while breating through a drinking straw.

All the best

Keith

There's loadsa stuff you can do to get the ped going quick, just depends how deep your pockets are. You could fit a race crank, variator, clutch, air filter, bigger dellorto carb, rollers, kevlar drive belt & do a port & polish on the barrel. Your scoot should be popping wheelies with six of you's on it after doing all that.

parts like that won't even be on the market for my bike, but even if they were; that would cost what, a grand...on a ped I bought for £20? lol

Read my last post again lol, 'just depends how deep your pockets are'. They are only suggestions to what you could do and most of the race parts for the horizontal 50cc 2 strokes engines all fit each other.
A lot of that stuff can be sourced 2nd hand on ebay so it doesn't have to be an expensive tune.

Tbh I wanted to bore her out 'cus it's very effecient and not too expensive. I'll buy an exhaust for now and see how she gets on, if I think it's a money pit, I'll get rid of it once I pass my A2 and buy a nippy 125
