I was on my way back from college and this ginger cat did a linford christy styley out of a hedge and straight out into the road in front of me, it hit the bumper and went under one of the wheels Sad

I stopped briefly but it looked dead, so i just moved it onto the side of the road and left Sad It had a coller on it with a phone number.... me wonders if i should make the call Crying or Very sad

I would if i were you Sad Its a horrible thing to have to do but the owner might be worried when it dosent come home and at least they will know Sad But if a kiddie answers the phone maybe best to ask for mum/dad. Sorry to hear that, but accidents happen and cats are notoriously stupid for running out into roads. I'm sure the owner will understand and will be grateful that you stopped and took the time to call them

It's best to call, but I tell you that the other person on the other end of the phone won't be too happy when you tell them that you've killed their cat.

Chances are that the cat lived very close to where you brutally murdered it (Razz), so the owner may even see it soon. If it will make you feel better then make the call...

If you do ring them mate, just say you have found their cat on the roadside, not worth the hastle of them blaming you.

And make sure you disguise your voice, and hang up abruptly when they ask who you are. Wink

sounds pretty similar to a couple of weeks back when a cat ran out infront of me whilst i was doing 60 on a country road near me, i was slowing down anyway comin up to a nice sharp corner when the bloody cat had its deathwish and played bulldog from one side of the road to another with me and my cousin in the car Rolling Eyes
that was the 1st time summit like that had happened to me so my natural reaction was to hit the brakes, but i was told not to stop for animals whilst your drivin incase of accidents with other cars being caused.

So i carried on drivin, was jus comin home through knutsford and what bloody ran out on the road infront of me?! a bloody squirrel! Rolling Eyes Sad

I couldn't stop because of cars behind me and it was zig-zagging all over the road next minute i jus felt the car go over a bump, looked in my mirror n there went my 5point squirrel Embarassed Sad Rolling Eyes , and the moral of the story is..............

shit happens mate, and there's nothin much you can do about it Sad i know it's snide but still, a phone call would be much appreciated by the cat's owners.

I gave them a ring an hour or so ago. They already knew about it as where i had moved the cat was just outside its home... So they obviously found it lying there when they returned.

They seemed pretty gutted about it but didnt ask any questions, they just said thanks for the call.

I'm feel really guilty about it.

arr well! stupid bugger that it was probably learnt its lesson.

Well I'd say so, its not going to be running out on any cars for quite a while.

Did you say you hit it, or just you had found it?
