Random question for anyone that is a nut.

Do the vehicles have any specific decals on the roof? Or are they plain?

Can anyone dig any pictures up ? I've tried googling but can't find anything.

NATO?
UN?
British flag?

Don't recall anything else, maybe a black rat for desert rats.

No numbers etc?

Desert rat... excellent idea, but don't know if it would work on Nato Green?

Maybe that will be saved for 2011 Laughing

Edited with pic, serial numbers quite common.

And maybe the number of the tank within the group like this one.

Yeh and like that works...... bloody yank pilots Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

To the OP, AFAIK, UK armoured vehicles usually tend to have just the callsign (something like 33B usually in yellow or black stenciling), a small Union Flag back and front ends of the vehicle, in Iraq all UK vehicles had a black chevron on atleast each side to identify them as coalition vehicles, also when part of NATO ops UK vehicles have things like KFOR (in Kosovo) and ISAF (in Afghanistan) stencilled on the sides, occasionally unit insignia such as the Jerboa (sp.?) for the Desert Rats or the Deaths Head for the Lancers are used at any position of the crews choice and also vehicle names quite often are stencilled somewhere near the front of the vehicle, lots of Scottish crewed vehicles tend to have St Andrews cross painted on the side of the turret somewhere Rolling Eyes Laughing !
Can I be nosy and ask what it's for? Very Happy

Hope this helps.

The Landy is already NATO green Laughing This is for the Mini, its a rotten old heap which was rattle-canned matt black last year when we built it. Next year it will be time for a colour change and NATO green and black stencils are flavour of the month.

Last time I was in the desert I was stuck with a bright yellow Land Rover, not unlike this one. It didn't blend in with the sand as much as I like to think it did.

If you're after something different for a colour scheme I know one of the guys at the local MOT place had a Kawasaki done in realtree camouflage.

It's a dipping process with the body panels, bars, etc. (whatever you want really). IMO a good effect and something a bit different and unique.

Believe he had it done by Hydro-graphics. A showcase of their stuff is here - click on motorcycles Doh!

Not really something you can DIY, unless you want to wrap your bike in the stuff!

HTH Thumbs Up
