Virginal kneesliders - take them off?

I got new leather trousers/bottoms today So that is cool, but now I have a set of virginal kneesliders and look a bit of a gimp now bearing in mind I have no intention of getting my kneedown, to my mind I have three things I could do:-

1 - Take them off - but then this just leaves big patches of Velcro - looks a bit silly
2 - Leave them on - but look a bit of a wally with virginal kneesliders
3 - put a pair of used ones on there - but not being a kneedowner - isn't that silly/ghey in itself??


What would you do???



I repeat, I have no intention of getting my kneedown (intentionally) now or ever - so don't say "go to your local roundabout (or twisties) and scrape them in" ... also they are tear drop ones, so I'd need to do left and right!!

Cant hurt to have a bit of extra padding if you leave them on Blue. Pre scraping them would be so vain though.
I would remove them personaly, i have on mine and the velcro doesnt look that bad to me. Then again i was never blessed with much fashion sense

They only look silly in your mind, leave them on there are more people riding round with sliders that have never touched down than those that have(and most of them are roundabout warriors or been faked).

I think you should soak them in petrol, and light them just before you go anywhere. Then you can look really cool as you whizz past everyone with flames down the sides... like those cool flame paint jobs, only for real.

I'm pretty sure riding whilst on fire isn't strictly illegal either.

I am more embarassed about my sliders which have only light scrapage on the left handside (from trackdays), but the right hand side which is scraped to buggery from roundabout surfing (which I no longer do).

I was planning to get some new ones, since I would prefer to walk round with virgin ones rather than the clear signs of roundabout abuse I currently have. Don't wear the one piece much at the moment, so no point tho.

When i got my leather keks, i had sliders with them and some leather patches, i chose to stick the patches on and keep the sliders till i try to kneedown, which will be ages yet. Theres nothing wrong with the virginal looking sliders in my eyes, looks better than any that have been sanded down.

I have a similar problem. Got some new leather and a new bike after being off two wheels for 14 months. Just got a new back tyre and decided it was time to scrub in my tyre and sliders, so went down to a nice big roundabout at the weekend to do some surfing. Now after about 10 minutes of getting dizzy I decided to give it a rest as I felt my knee was never going to touch down, I have no chicken strips at all on the right hand side and had the bike cranked quite far over but could not get my knee down!! I think the problem was that to get my knee down I needed to stretch out from the bike a bit more, but I felt more comfortable being tucked in and my new leathers are still quite tight and restricting, not allowing me to completely outstretch my leg....

Or maybe I'm just shit

Go ride up close alongside a wall and stick your knee out into that. The skuffs will probably be out of proper alignment but if it matters to you that much it'll probably do.

Here is a thought ... if getting pulled by the rozz, would they be more likely to think you are a hoodlum - and be more inclined to book you or if a booking is unavoidable roger you a bit harder with things like plates and 'zorsts - if you had well scraped sliders than if you had virgins?

I have some Astars sliders on my suit, never touched these down yet and to be honest I dont give a fuk about the 'virginal' look. I gave up trying to kneedown as it kept becoming the sole 'aim' of my rideout and was sure to end in tears if I kept trying so hard. I did kd very very briefly a while back with some much thinner sliders on so thought some thicker sliders would be the trick.
I now focus my attention on riding like a complete cock and find this much more satisfying
Plus my shiny Astars sliders look awesome and I wouldnt want to scratch em up.
