hi new to froum
have just got out and bought a 2006 honda xr125.bought as a used bike from a honda main dealer.
i need a bit of advice really.
the bike is misfiring,is worse when cold and gets better when warmed up but is still there.i changed the spark plug today but with no improvement.it also plays up when it is cold, when first started you have to keep revving it for a few minutes to get it to tick over,
secind problem, the engine seems a bit rattley are they meant to be like this.
dont really wnat to change any parts or go too far with it as its still got 3 months warranty, just want to no if this is normal for a xr 125 2006
thanks

Welcome along.

First thig to do, pull your spark plug out and tell us what it looks like. You can tell 101 things about your bike just by the spark plug.

You do know if its missing its hardly going to move and will keep stalling? if i rememeber there single cylinder so only one plug, if thats stops sparking the engine stops Laughing

Also tell us how much oil you got on the dipstick.

oil level ok
also its just had a service by honda
i think thats what is happening when its cold because when you start it up if i say hold it at 2k revs using throttle iot will drop down and stall unless you blip the throttle
but after slightly warming up it will just slightly missfire every few seconds but not enough to make it stall

No way, not for any bike. Get it back under the warrenty, and get it sorted. Just be glad its happening now, and not in 3 months after its ran out Smile

Without sounding like a noob,is this your first bike?if so are you operating the choke properly? And the rattling should only last a few seconds if it still happens when it's warm could be cam chain,if it is it's probably been thrashed to f4ck,i'd take it back asap before it gets worse
