Without wishing to steal Jon B's thunder, i'm about to knock his paltry triumph into a cocked hat:

Not only have i made BCF's Top Ten for the first time (albeit at a meagre ninth position, which, considering the hour-long battywash i had to perform on Steve H to 'earn' it is frankly unacceptable), i've also managed to land myself a new job!

After almost a month of unemployment, it's a fucking relief to know that i'm not going to be stuck around the house anymore - frankly, the hormonal state of the preggers MrsGixer is just about starting to do my fecking nut in. Now i have a 'real' excuse to be out of the house and out from underneath her feet.

So, yay, go me! New job, more money than my previous position (from which i took voluntary redundancy), another new car(sadly not another custard-mobile, but hey, you can't have everything), and i get to regain my sanity and sense of self-worth.

By my clock, it's currently 13.28 - i do believe that it is, in fact, beer o'clock.

Sadly, yes - we both decided it was biting off a little more than we could chew at the mo': lack of work and lack of grandparent's help with new baby gixer and the other 3 little gixers would be a bit more than we could cope with.
So, we're looking around for a new place daarn sarf, but we'll get up there eventually.....

Cool! Let's face it you'd never have got away with the 'custard mobile' and maintained any sense of credibility, so who knows maybe you'll be on for a Company 'pineapple express' Thumbs Up

I am also happy as I sold my Subaru yesterday which means I can look for another car. Something older, slightly less exciting and a lot cheaper methinks. I have also been given a set of wooden training knives (butterfly swords) for my Wing Chun training which I'm strangely happy about. Maybe because I might be able to practice the knife form now!

One small fly in the ointment, my USB hard disk has decided to lunch itself along with a lot of my data. Hey ho, its mostly backed up! Smile

I also have mixed emotions about the death of Michael Jackson. I loved his music as a kid, and then grew out of it when I was about 11 or 12, but I can't honestly say that he was a useful or contributing member of society - paedo or not. Also I don't think he would have survived how ever many tour dates that were proposed. I kinda think it was better for it to happen now than on the bog of some tour bus in the middle of a slew of dates at the 02.

So, an emotionally strange couple of days for me I'd say. I'm going to go back to listening to 'Thriller' again... Smile

I didn't think my particular 'Frickin' Yes!" was justified of an entire thread...

Off the wall has dated worse than Bad and Thriller. Even Dangerous has a more 'nineties' feel about it than anything else. The best album is clearly Bad followed by Thriller, and then Off the wall. Which only has a couple of good tracks on it.

My fave song is probably Beat it, but it sounds really underproduced as if all the musicians were actually Jazz musicians trying to play rock. Which is exactly what happened.

Get a proper rock band to play it and it would be an awesome track.
