Telling us a bit more about how it won't work and what you're trying to make it work with would be a start...

What Bendy said.

Are you using it via USB? I have known them not to work on some USB ports as they cannot get enough power to function correctly.

I am using it in a usb is there any other way to use it?

When I click on the shortcut the box comes up ok and then it tries to connect, but a box comes up and says unable to connect check settings. Have been on the 3 site and followed the steps given but still not made a difference.

Apologies for any thickness on my part, am not very technically minded Embarassed

ok I've got experience with Voda, not 3. But, they're all the same kinda idea. If your PC finds the device, it's most probably working properly. The issue will only be resolved when you call the tech support and get them to do some diagnostics with you. Most of the time you'll find either the SIM isn't activated, or it's on the wrong tariff, or they've blocked data for it, or something equally as dim...

Hi, within Ubuntu, opening up wvdial is often enough.

Have a google for wvdial. Thumbs Up

(This is assuming you run Ubuntu, you've not stated)

Have you checked you've got coverage in your area? Probably can't connect because it's not in an 3G area.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't get any data. The coverage maps of the UK are pretty plastered now. I've sent about 50 of these kiddos out here and there around the country and not had one unable to connect for a coverage reason.

Nobody mentioned Windows. Or Mac, or anything else. Just that he had a three dongle and it wouldn't work.

I had trouble with my dongle from 3.

The software that came with the dongle wouldn't work so had to get the customer support to do whilst on the phone.

We did have a bit of trouble a while back after our youngest started touching the computer. It just wouldn't log on, turned out it was due to the incorrect option on the connection screen.

On ours (in Aus) we have 2 selections on a drop down tab next to 'connect' and my son had selected the wrong one and hence why we couldn't get on.

I also found that it wouldn't work if the wireless switch on the laptop was on. To be wireless with the dongle the laptop couldn't be wireless????

^ Its a bit confusing I know, I'm sorry.
