FYI seen on Saturday (27/06/09).
Maroon unmarked V70 with speed radar sat on the A63 near the A19 roundabout.
For map click here.

Didn't get a registration.
Just a heads up if you're on the way to Squires or the A19.
It's not obvious so take it easy after the railway/canal flyover (it's nice and straight to the roundabout you see).

Also speed radar also known to be occasionally on the next section towards Hambleton known to park in another field entrance. Worth checking as you come under the bridge and round the left hander (to, surprise, surprise another nice straight bit).
Map of this one click here.

HTH Thumbs Up

They also like to hang out along sections of the B1222

usually behind village signs or in driveways on certain corners Evil or Very Mad

I noticed they also now like to hide opposite the Industrial estate at Sherburn in the entrance to a field Thumbs Down

Wish I'd seen this post earlier, although I did get away with it.

Was on the way back from picking SWMBO up from doing her CBT in Selby and overtook a car approaching said roundabout. As I was just pulling back in in front of said car another bike sailed past me.

Needless to say, they pulled him instead of me (I was actually only doing about 70, but it's still more than 60). Think I got rather lucky there.

Hope the other guy didn't get anything too serious. I was more pissed at the way that the unmarked car completely cut me up mid roundabout in order to catch him at the other side. (I'd entered the roundabout before they'd decided to put on the blues and twos)

There were a couple of bike cops with him, but it was the V70 that gave chase.

Got caught on Saturday evening on the B1222 as I was coming round
the corner. (See map.)

The bike cop sits on the bend and listens for vehicle(s) coming either
round corner from Naburn or the Fulford direction (over the bridge).
You can't see him 'til it's too late.

There was no traffic coming towards me on Saturday between
Naburn and his "Trap" so I went blindly in, and BAM! 52 in a 30.
He said I'll only get 3 points, but I think the Magistrates Guidelines
say it's 6 points for over 50 in a 30 limit.

Went for look-see this evening (Monday). Passed a group of 4
oncoming sportsbikers in Naburn. Not one of them warned me of
trouble ahead so I piled on after exiting the village. Then I met a
ton of cars manically flashing and waving, and sure enough the same
guy was there again. He glanced over his shoulder at me, but was
pointing his RADAR towards the top of the bridge.

Another favourite spot on the B1222 is by the sewerage works near the boat yard.

See map - click here - by the green arrow.

It's just down (or up!) from the 30mph section noted by Towton '61 above. It's also an ok straight bit for some safe overtaking. Reminds me a bit of the traffic cameras in the Scottish borders; set up on straight, safe overtaking opportunity sections only.

Thumbs Up

There's also an unmarked Black BMW 3 Series Coupe knocking around.

He'd managed to pull an R1 on the A166 a mile or so west of
Stamford Bridge on July 20th when I saw it.

I then saw the same BM parked on the roundabout north of Sherburn
a few minutes before I got pulled on Saturday on the B1222.
