I've been offered one of these plus a lens for £450. So BCF, should i bite his hand off and buy it?

It's a pretty old camera, but still worth looking at. I guess it depends on what you normally shoot?

i'm looking to do some landscape plus a few action, mainly outdoor use with a little indoor use. it is mainly i have been thinking about an slr for a while but didn't know enough as to what to go for, but this guy has offered me this one (he's a big photo geek and it is his spare).

at the very least he is going to lend it me for my holiday so i can see if i get on with it.
