Roaming charges

Hey guys, kind of linked to my thread below about using my iPhone when in China - I've had a look at roaming charges and 02 do a bolt-on where for £19.99 you get 10Mb of data (£50 for 50Mb)

Do mobiles strip down the amount of data they receive? I only want to use Google maps along with the iPhone GPS, but suerly 10mb is only about 50 web pages these days and wouldn't even last an hour?

Or am I being an idiot?

No, they don't strip the data, but they expect you to be using mobile friendly sites. If you don't have the bolt on, they charge £6 per Mb which is rape, the "bolt on" is still rape, but with a bit of lube.
