You could always phone him and complain about his spam?

although Edward dosnt have to go this far for answers for a survey.

"Hi just popping by to tell you a member here is dead , will you do my survey?" Laughing

Right, sorry to clutter this spam thread, but after the first ten questions, about the morality of manslaughter, incest, public nudity, group sex, theft and beastiality, I get to question 11. Needless to say I am outraged, disgusted and daily mailed:

Quote:
11. Alison works as an accounts manager for a printing company. She enjoys her job, and is well-liked by her colleagues. One day, Alison returns home after work and prepares her dinner. She eats soup, a salad and some bread. Alison then pulls a chocolate bar out of the kitchen cupboard. She takes the wrapper off, places the chocolate bar on a plate, and eats it with a knife and fork.

A KNIFE AND FORK? THE FILTHY BITCH!

Obituary: Dr Nicola Knight
12 June 2009
It is with profound sadness that we report the death of Dr Nicola Knight, Researcher in the Centre for Anthropology and Mind and Lecturer in the Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Oxford.
It is with profound sadness that we report the death of Dr Nicola Knight, Researcher in the Centre for Anthropology and Mind and Lecturer in the Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Oxford.

Nicola Knight was trained in both anthropology and psychology. After taking his First Degree in Social Anthropology (LSE, 1999) he went on to receive three Master’s Degrees: in Human Evolution and Behaviour (UCL, 2000), Anthropology (Michigan 2002), and Psychology (Michigan 2004). His PhD from the University of Michigan was jointly in Anthropology and Psychology (2007). As a student, Nicola Knight won prestigious prizes for his work at both the LSE and University of Michigan. Before coming to Oxford he held visiting positions at the Institut Jean Nicod, Paris (CNRS-EHESS-ENS) and at the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science and the Department of Anthropology (LSE).

Dr Knight published numerous influential journal articles, some co-authored with Scott Atran, Justin Barrett, Brian Malley, Dick Nisbett, and Paulo Sousa. Highly original work was in production at the time of his passing. Most distressingly for his closest colleagues in Oxford, Dr Knight's greatest contributions were yet to come. In the weeks before he died, he was working closely with colleagues in the preparation of several research projects and papers, as well as planning a major grant application that promised to deliver ground-breaking social science research. He was excitedly preparing for the Cognition, Religion, and Theology project workshop this summer in which he was to instruct humanities scholars in skills and methods for rigorous quantitative research, one of his intellectual passions. Dr Knight was a modest man, quietly spoken and understated. But those who knew him well realized that he was uniquely capable of helping us to improve the way we think about complex socio-cultural phenomena.

Dr Knight summarized his research interests in the following way:

• Cognitive science of normativity. How do humans think about permissible and impermissible acts? What classes of impermissible acts are there, and what distinguishes them? What is the role of justification in normative judgment?

• Cognitive science of religion. What are the cognitive bases of religion? How do children perceive other minds? What is the role of cultural knowledge in shaping this perception? Are animal and super-natural minds special, from a child’s point of view?

• The methodology and epistemology of anthropology. Do cognitive biases affect the way that anthropologists construct and present their evidence? Why have some big questions about culture remained unanswered, and what role could psychology play in settling them? How do anthropologists structure and produce evidence for their research questions, and how does their approach differ from that of other human scientists?

As a teacher, Dr Knight was held in great esteem by his students who, before his untimely death, nominated him to receive an excellence award for his lectures on quantitative methods and statistical analysis. Fourteen unsolicited nominations praised him for the depth of his knowledge of the use of quantitative methods in anthropology and the care with which his teaching was planned and prepared. His enthusiasm for the subject and his engaging and humorous delivery held the attention of his students. He made otherwise dry and difficult topics understandable and relevant through the use of illuminating practical examples. Above all, he cared about the progress of each student, encouraging questions and offering support outside of his lectures. As one of his students recalled, Dr Knight declared: ‘there is no such thing as a stupid question in my classes.’

Nicola Knight was committed to bridging social anthropology and the cognitive sciences, both intellectually and institutionally. On the evening of his passing, he organized a basketball game with colleagues across the School of Anthropology in Oxford. Shortly after the game ended he died of a heart attack, on the evening of 9 June 2009, at the age of 33. He will be sorely and achingly missed by his colleagues and friends in Oxford.

At the top of the Power rankings
According to the most recent UK research assessment exercise the School of Anthropology contains the second greatest amount of world-leading anthropology research activity in the UK, and the greatest amount of research activity of world-leading and international quality. More >

i think Mr. elston gunn it would have been better if you'd made this as 3 distinct posts

1/ announcing a member on here has died
2/ details of your study and the link
3/ the section about biking holiday's should have been a totally separate post.

anyway i hope your soft science study goes well.
