Piaggio NRG 50cc Problems.. Help?!

Hello people,

Just bought myself a piaggio NRG mc3 lc. Having a few problems with it though.

Now i dont know alot about what has been done to the moped, just know it has a giannelli exhaust on it and thats all i know about it.

Problem im having is, when pulling away the bike is very very slow at picking up before it pulls away! Then it picks up after about 5 seconds (feeling pretty fast), before dropping revs again at about 30ish and slowing down. But does eventually creep upto about 50mph (on the clock).

Also it is VERY slow up hill, im talking like 10 - 15mph on steep hills?

Thing is when the revs pick up it actually feels pretty fast it just feels as if it should be like that all the time?

Any things i should check / replace etc? Heard clutch springs are sometimes the problem so should i replace them? Dont really want to spend loads of money on the bike as its just a summer runaround but it is far to slow at times!
