I have just aquired a 1987 TZR250 1KT with 10312km on the clock ( I am now livivng in Japan ) it has been stood for 2 years out in the elements. but its in pretty good condition considering.
I have stripped most of it down and done the usual cleaning of carbs etc. Electrical checks - ok. Suspension is ok apart from from fork seals. easy job.
My main issue is that, it runs, sounds great and has good cyclinder compression. however..
it seems to be creating back pressure and pushing out oil via the oil overflow pipe above the clutch / gearbox. RH side.
it does look a little milky, so i was curious if it could be a perished head gasket causing this pressure etc. or if it was a crankcase seal.. but rad has clear fluid. So i am a little lost.
I have 1976 rd250dx which has a very similar in bottom end build, but i have never experienced this issue before.
Any help you can give would be greatly appriciated.
