Honda SFX under construction, help please?

I have been watching a few videos on Youtube and have seen how people in Spain, Italy etc have all got mopeds - mostly Honda SFX's that can go off the clock or get onto the back wheel with out a problem.

I have one sat in my garage that i have had since 2002 and declared it sorn along time ago, never use it for road use. So i thought it's about time to do a little project to keep me occupied.

I have done a bit of research on expansion chambers, cdi units and little extra's. If i wanted to get a sports cdi unit or a expansion chamber, what sort of work would i have to do to the engine to strengthen it?
I want to keep it's reliable but fast!

I know people in the past who have derestricted their bikes and have lasted no longer than a few months. I don't want this to happen and want to do it proply first time round.

I have some big idea's for this project and would like to get it right.

Any ideas?
