A lad on the Pit bike forum has got a Day Time MOT on his stomp pit bike.

Now I dont know if he's had it SVA tested and done it that way, Or just used the ID from another frame.

But he has No lights what so ever, Not even a stop light.

It literally has:

road legal tyres
Horn
Speedo

And a reg plate.

Is this legal? If so, Can I do away with my electrics completely and just run a horn off a small 9v battery?

I had my GasGas MOT'd Friday.

It had a horn. That's it. The lights were taped over - if you have no lights fitted than that's OK - you'll get an advisory saying 'No lights fitted'.

My digital speedo is on the bike but doesn't work. The horn was one made for a push bike and runs from a battery.

The reg plate was a full sized fully legal plate.

So yeah, that's legal to pass an MOT. By the way, there's nothing on the MOT to say daytime MOT - there's no such thing.

Just ring the tester first to make sure he will pass the bike like that.

My monster passed with a Reg plate, a horn and a reflector. Nothing else. No speedo, stand, ignition key...

You can ditch the reflector as well if you have no lights.
