from my own personal use, my tzr 50 was pretty kitted out, race cylinder (MK), Race crank, upjettet carb, race exhaust, K&N and a few other things sprockets etc...

anyway, it would do 65mph thrashing it, but then other peoples 50cc will do 75mph no problem?!!

i watched that thing on dave with james may when he tested the fizzys, on the speed camera, restricted it would do the 30mph, but with a race exhaust, and a few other mods, it would accurately do 45mph!

Aprilias RS 50 And yamahas TzR 50 come standard with 1kw!

anything after that i have no idea, i would asume 5bhp with a few mods, 8bhp fully kitted out, maybe a little more.

my 125 is still fully restricted ment to be 15bhp, but i asume 13bhp, and will happily do 70mph without thrashing it!

So basically, has anyone got accurate speeds and bhp readings, from similar tests to james may's or dyno sheets at differnt stages

Hi

YSR50 managed 5.9hp on a dyno last year (standard, but not a UK restricted moped). On a drag strip earlier this year it managed 50mph (although that was hiding in the fairing and having to look sideways, following a line in the concrete).

12hp is enough for 70~75mph. Power required goes up rapidly with speed. From this test it seems that to get enough power for that you need a ported 70cc kit.

All the best

Keith

I had 70mph on the clocks of my RS50 but basically laying on my tank. It was hovering at about 65mph for about a mile and a bit before it creeped up to 70mph.

Apparently the clocks aren't accurate so take away 15% or so. Probably about 60mph to be honest.

I had one of the older GPR50s (pre-AM6 and therefore faster).

When the speedo said 75mph, the GPS box said 49mph.

That was standard other than a Metrakit Exhaust.

Could Still Be Either.

"No Tzr50's A Fourstroke?"
"Is the Tzr 50 A Fourstroke?"

he could have put the questiomark as he was unsure, i dont know.
