right i have my test booked for Monday morning, and have seen the bike i plan to get. but need to know if its wise.

it is the Suzuki GSXR 400 SP 1991 47000KM on the clock
5 previous owners
NO service history
imported in 1994

£2000 with free restrictor put in

bloke says the engine is "sweet" and i mentioned a warranty and he said he would give 6 months warranty. I wasnt to happy about the no history of services, and he repied that he will give it a full service before it is sold, and the warranty is there as well.

any one got any advice on what i should ask/do now?

i love the look of the bike and would be very happy riding around on that machine, just want to make sure i aint being done over any where. Rolling Eyes

The GSXR is a horrible bike according to the last Ride magasine.

hi
Confused hmm, the magazines say that the GSXR 400 is the worst 400, and £2000 for a 47000km bike seem pretty steep, i managed to get my 1990 VFR with 15000km for £1800

Seems a bit much to me.

If it was nearer the £1k mark it might be a better deal.

It's a rip off and I love the "free restrictor kit" bit, for £2000 you're not getting ANYTHING free, I wouldnt pay over a grand for it. And the GSXR and FZR are the worst 400s and with 47K on it it's gonna be a dog, sorry but it will be.

Thats worth about 1400 tops.

i have to admit i think the gsxr is the best lookin 400 , havent riden one so wont comment on how good they actually are.

but 2 grand is way too much ...... u can get a low mileage good condition one for bout 1200 quid .... cheaper if it needs a bit of paint etc ....
