This is a bit overdue but have spent so much time out riding it I haven't had time to put any pictures up until now...

Good lad, that's what you should be doing! And nice bike. Was originally going to get a CBR6F myself but opted for the Hornet. I see from your profile map that you are in London? You should join the South East forum and join some ride outs Wink

Well it's been a while since I've been on here. A few days after the original post I got clonked by a lorry and damaged myself and bike enough that I couldn't ride for three months.

At the time I thought that was it and I wouldn't ride again, but when I picked the bike up, the mile ride home from the guys at About Town Motorbikes in Wandsworth turned into a 150 mile blast down the A3.

So that was that and I've put another 6,000 miles since then!

I haven't changed anything on the bike at all, but it's been very well looked after. It visitied Honda Chiswick this morning for some new sticky tyres. Rather than spend on the bike I've upgraded all the kit I bought when I started out at the beginning of last year, so custom fit Wolf leathers from the folks at Harpers race shop (can definitely recommend, very good value for money) which I actually ordered a week before my wreck but didn't pick up until three months later as I couldn't carry anything. The guy in the shop was convinced I had been written off as he hadn't heard from me! Also new gloves and new boots.

Anyway, here are some photo's I took earlier. Hoepfully I can meet up with some of you guys before the Summer's over.

James

PS I'm 5" 6', short to most but I'd tower over Dany Pedrosa although it's fair to say I bounce as well as him Sad

Sorry to here about your off, that sounds nasty Sad Gorgeous bike though and it's good that you haven't been put off. I'd love a CBR6 when I pass my test if I thought I could hold one up Laughing

Well as long as it's upright it doesn't weigh anything at all Smile

It does have the turning circle of a barge though at low speed and I'm not one for U-turns but three lefts make a right, err right?!

I figure as long as you can touch the floor with the ball of one foot you're laughing.

I find it pretty friendly to be honest. While I was getting used to it I just the kept the revs below 4k and built up. Then as you get comfortable you can use more of the power.

The old story about riding being so much easier on a bigger bike is definitely true although I do miss being able to cut through heavy traffic on the old CG125!

I was looking for a CBR6F but they seem to hold value pretty well, got a Hornet instead (engines are almost identical) but the CBR is nicer!
