Firstly need to know which way round these 'disks' ? go on the end of the can: (does it even matter which way they go? facing back or forwards. What do they do?)

They were off completely when i bought the bike.

Also wondering how it works for mot's.
The can has a bsau plate on it but the end-cap itself has Jetson RACE written on it.Would the tester ignore the race bit in favour of the BSAU stamp or does it just go on tester discretion?

Thanks
Dave

Appears to be a knock off supertrapp exhaust. You can add or remove the plates to "tune" the exhaust, this means make it louder or quieter in reality.

The BS plate looks exactly like one of the ones you get off ebay and will not fool any MOT tester, however I imagine it should pass ok as long as it's not knackered and you "tune" it to the quiet end of the spectrum Smile

That is a super trapp system. The discs should only fit in one way. The more discs you fit, the louder it will be. I would try it with as little discs as possible to try and get it quiet enough for the mot.

The idea is that you can tune the exhaust characteristics by adding or removing those discs.

Cool Thumbs Up

Doesn't seem right having no hole in the end of the can!
So maybe i should just leave one disk in to keep it as quiet as possible...Will see what sort of difference it makes when i get the bike running.
Finally got all the parts through from honda and it's being re-bored as i type Very Happy

So these disks in theory will (might) require carb re-jetting as i adjust them?

Cheers for the reply's Thumbs Up

Dave

The gas comes out from in between the discs, thats why adding more discs makes it louder as there is more spaces. When i had one on my xr400, i didn't need to re-jet, but i bet if you made it loud enough it would effect the fueling.

If you want a cheap end cap for them, cut the bottom off a beer can and put it in between the last two discs, worked great for me.

Have you taken the snorkel out of the air box?

Might try the beer can on it for the mot so it doesn't say race on it Laughing
Thumbs Up
Didn't bother taking the snorkel off as i'll be using the bike mainly off-road through mud e.t.c.
