This PC any good for gaming ?

I dropped PC's for gaming in favour of consoles a few years ago so not really up with the new graphics cards and ram etc...

Would this PC (the one for £450) be any good for playing todays games on ?

Its not a bad PC but its not what I would consider a gaming PC. The graphics card is not really suitable for gaming on anything but a small low res tft and most games are properly optimised for quad core machines now.

There's nothing extreme about that PC unless it's the magnitude of pisstake involved.

Gaming is 80% graphics card 20% CPU & RAM. By way of example i will use my system:

AMD 1055T X6 CPU
4GB quick DDR3
HD3200 on board graphics

Pimp ass CPU, decent ram, shitty graphics card. The PC struggles to run even shit games.

Provided the CPU and ram aren't wank ( fair speed dual core and 3GB ) it will all depend on the graphics card. Be warned, they devalue quickly!

Monitor is another consideration as the resolution you will be playing at determines the card performance. Higher resolutions do look yummy, but kill your PC and require an expensive monitor.
