Yes and it was interesting, I did hide behind the sofa at times but I thought Alan was shown great respect and treated with dignity. Glad I saw it.

Agree, the end result was pretty cool and looked the same as the 'proper' mummies. Couldn't believe they had something called a body farm!

Tried not to look at some stages Laughing

Have you never seen the Body Farm before? Not a nice place, the rats and maggots role the stiffs down the hill.

The missus kept looking away, but I thought it was cool. I suggested the same thing for me and she could keep me in the corner. She declined...

I saw a documentary about those places once, gawd what a gruesome job that must be. Must be a hard life, I mean what do you say when you're coming onto some girl & she asks what you do for a living Confused

I enjoyed it, but I felt the maggots in his ear looked a little bit staged so they could showcase the pine bark insecticide trick (or whatever extract it was). Seems a bit odd that only 3 full grown maggots would emerge out of an ear. Surely given the hundreds of eggs a fly can lay, his head would be swarmed with the little larvae? But then, I'm not that knowledgable about decomposing flesh, so I'm more than likely wrong.

Good program though, and kudos to Alan for making it possible. Hope he has fun partying in the pharaoh's afterlife!

That looks very interesting and on the same note, I saw this article elsewhere but can only find it on Daily Mail's site.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-480514/Preserved-mummy-500-year-old-Inca-Ice-Maiden-wows-visitors.html

Quite stunningly preserved considering it's 500 years old and wasn't even mummified.

I was surprised at how dignified the whole process was. A good watch.
