Does anyone else remember that smiling tosser, Tony Blair, promising that NuLabour were going to be 'tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime'? The message doesn't seem to have got through to some people.

Not so sure on this story

First off - it was 3 years ago and since the incident he's got himself a job and is trying to better himself via education

Second off - there's no evidence it was him that swung a bottle into the guy's face. Being involved in a fracas at the age of 15 isn't exactly unheard of - of course it's fcuking crap that the guy got bottled and there's no excuse for that but he may not have done it, it's not been proven

Third off - he may have been a bit of a twat putting that on his facebook but it could have been tongue in cheek because he was being accused of something he didn't do. He's still young, and obviously not the brightest, not that it's much of a defence.

Fourth off - M.E.N contacting him and asking him to apologise to the guy, well that's doing what exactly? Stirring up a hornet's nest for the sake of it? As he says, they'll paint him as the devil, which is what they've done. As he says, there's a lot more to the story - no-one's heard his side, so who are we to judge?

Media hype bollocks again IMO. Make out all 18 year olds are career criminals and hey presto, that's all they'll aspire to be.

NOw - if you want an example of not being tough on crime, herewith:

So, they stab him up, beat him with a brick and pour acid down his face and they've got, err, bailed..... WTF Idea
