im thinking of doing my restricted licence but im struggling to find a bike advertised as 33bhp or about this power any ideas how i can get a list of these or some suggestions would be great i would love a 500cc like the cb500 or a good reliable 250cc
me and a friend want to go touring and i need a bike that will cruise at 70mph comfy or should i just do the DAS instead

thankyou muffy

Why 38bhp???

Surely you mean 33bhp? If so buy whatever bike you like and get it restricted. Job done.

It'll reduce the power to 33bhp effectively. Top speed 100-105mph. It'll be fine with your 70mph requirement. I had an er5 restricted and it was fine. Thumbs Up All it does is restrict the amount of air/fuel mixture going into engine to only produce 33bhp. Doesnt affect anything electrical, only power output.

You will lose little power in the lower end of the rev range on a bike such as the CB 500, you will just lose 10-20 MPH off the top end. Speaking from experience, I don't think you will mind at all being restricted, at least until they 'fall out'.

Honda hornet 250, is a great small bike in my eyes, has been great for my restriction period. Has done everything I wanted from motorway riding too, joining around back roads and pootling on minor roads.

Cheap to insure as well, cost me 118 this year with 3 years NCB
