As if the rubbish weather we've been having wasn't bad enough, my garden has been invaded by slugs Evil or Very Mad

I have pets, so can't use pellets or anything obviously deadly and I'm not wasting my fine Badger beer on those slippery little beggers, so I collected them in a tub and took 'em half a mile down the lane Embarassed

217 of them Sick

Ha! Laughing Round the whole garden?

I'm bordered by fields, so it's a losing battle really and I just can't face killing them with the salt, so down the track for the hedgehogs to feast on a great big pile of them!

I must have chucked about 20+ snails over the hedges, they're easier to launch. I just don't like them naked!! Mr. Green

Yeah, Flip I'd seen those at the Garden Centre, but I'm too paranoid to risk it, even though it says pet friendly. Maybe they're not fibbing Confused

Christ on a bike. I don't particularly mind slugs but that's proper rank!

My girlfriend on the other hand absolutely hates them (and snails). She would properly freak out if she saw that picture...

Hmmmmmm.

Put them in boiling hot water, wash all the gunk off. Cut down the middle and scrape all the guts out. Put onto skewers and BBQ.

Takeaway sushi for your local blackbirds!!! Thumbs Up

Instead of thinking the worst and killing / attacking the poor little gods creatures.
Why not think of their good uses: Thumbs Up

In rural southern Italy, the garden slug Arion hortensis is used to treat gastritis or stomach ulcer by swallowing it whole and alive. Sick

Or sell them to the local spotty yoofs / pedbois:
A clear mucous produced by the slug is used to treat various skin conditions including dermatitis, warts, inflammations, calluses, acne and wounds.

As a tangential issue:
We've got purple latex gloves in my office.
I hate purple as a colour, but they're well funky.
Cool Thumbs Up
I think they buy them so the surgeons can't accidentally lose one whilst operating, as leaving them behind in a body would be a bit noticeable.
