So Josh Brookes then?......

Racing on the limit, or a complete liability?

Should everyone just stop bitching, or should he be packed off back down under with his tail between his legs?

I reckon Jack Valentine will lamp him before too much longer! Laughing

I can't believe that both Airwaves Yamahas have a nightmare and yet end up with a 1-2 because Brookes takes seven people out of the race.

You have to say it was a very similar accident to the one at Donington, where he ended Guintoli's season. I doubt he'll be getting many Christmas cards...

It was such a completely mental move too..... he can't have thought for a second that he would actually pull it off.

Gutted for all those who lost out, but I'm surprised that they didn't declare the result from the start of the lap..... I thought Valentine was pretty restrained considering, but Walker looked like he was going to lamp Brookes.

And, for some reason, Brookes was giving it back to Walker. Surely he should have just been apologising!

Yeah, I was surprised by that too..... by the look on his face as he walked back to the pits he knew he was as guilty as a puppy sat next to a big pile of poo!

The Judicial Panel comprising Mervyn Whyte (MCRCB Chief Steward) and Dave Francis (MSVR Judicial Clerk of the Course) in the presence of Norman Williamson (MCRCB Safety Delegate), considered the incident at Shaw's Hairpin on Lap 23 of British Superbike Race 1, which resulted in seven riders falling and the race being stopped prematurely.

Following a review of TV coverage, statements from marshals, an inspection of machine #25, and an interview with #25 Josh Brookes, it was concluded that he had been guilty of reckless riding and riding in a manner not compatible with general safety, in breach of MCRCB regulations B.2.6 and B.2.9.

A two event ban has been applied to Josh Brookes with a further one event ban, suspended for two events.

The rider, in the presence of his team manager(s) was informed of his right to appeal. No appeal having been received, the penalty is confirmed.

i feel gutted for simon andrews Ive been wanting him to win a race all season and he was about to do it too.

TBH you can't be too harsh on a racer for trying to hard thats what they are there to do.

whilst riding round mallory Ive done what he's done, not a complete wipeout like him thankfully but there is a crest of a hill right on the start of the braking to that corner and left a split second too late will get the back end up like what he did.

he isnt just trying hard though, every racer does that, and yea theres always gonna be some contact, but brookes is just way out of control, trying to be top dog before he can bark!

he was bad enough at donington but that could have been put down to eagerness and kind of forgiven but not after he's done it again, and so soon after. its just lucky no one was hurt bad.

I only saw that incident regarding Brookes so can't comment on other events.

I totally disagree with the way this incident was handled. Firstly it has to be said that it was a mistake, and although it had fairly big consequences it was still a mistake. He only over cooked it by a small amount (the small crest made it look like a bigger mistake), and lost control, as almost every rider on the grid has done at some point this season in anger.

He was sorry in the interview and now has a harsh penalty. Now next time he races he will have a suspended sentence hanging over him (ridiculous). So does he over take at the next opportunity?? This is racing not bowls.

They should have disqualified him from the race and gone back a lap so that all the teams at the front were not screwed over like they were. That way there would be far less complaints.

Ive been taken out in racing due to other peoples incompetence and its frustrating and painfully expensive. Should the guy who took me out be punished because he tried to hard and took both of us out? No, it's racing and people will make mistakes when on their limits.

I was shocked by the idiocy of it all yesterday.
