At Brands today

Freak accident; another car into barrier, wheel and tyre comes off and bounces across track - he has no chance, catches him right in the face whilst he's opening the car up to power down the straight Sad

I had to watch it about 10 times to realise who he was. Then I spotted the tyre hit him.

RIP

I wouldn't like to be pwned like that for sure. I mean, theres a pwning, and then theres a bang out of order pwning like that.

Man just doesn't need to be pwned on that kinda scale, no need at all.

RIP Crying or Very sad

Hasn't the FIA come up with some kind of safety feature to reduce pwnage(< Wink ) yet?? Evil or Very Mad

I've seen incidents where a racing car has been fully pwned into pieces, followed by the driver being pwned all over the track.. Confused

Can the FIA at least address this issue??

FIA recently released new legislation, an aim for the next season:

Less hardcore pwnage.

I think there's a few people taking this a little bit too seriously.
Racing is dangerous, people die all the time - sure it's a shame, but it's just one of those things.

I'm not one for lots of 'oh no, RIP' stuff about someone I didn't know, but I find reducing someone's death to a LOLcats picture to be in extremely poor taste.

"Poor taste" (humour etc) is one of the ways we humans deal with the spectre of death when it's applied to total strangers. And how some of us deal with it when it comes to friends and family. I said a lot more than any of the above when I spoke at my best friend's funeral, and his family enjoyed the hell out of it.

So get a grip.

I can understand somebody who was close to him using humour to get over his death if they were genuinely upset. However, for someone to post something who isn't remotely upset and it just doing it to try to make a funnys, is just wrong.

Humour is one way of dealing with tragedy, sure. It generally amounts to more than 'ha, he's dead now!' though.

Riiiight, because you've never made any jokes about Michael Jackson, Maddie, WWII, 9/11 etc eh?

Did you know the guy? No.

And no, it's not particularly any more of a "special" death because he was a racer.

It saddens me that his life was ended so shortly, who knows what he could have become on the track, and I feel badly for the family that lost him.

Doesn't change the fact he got pwned though.

It's a shame, but hands up who honestly doesn't watch any form of motor racing, hoping for a decent crash?
